My name is Craig Attwood, and this site is all about me and the work that I do.
Since I left school at the age of 16, I have been busy learning different skills in media and technology industries.
It started with 3 years work experience with a local business, ‘Computers’ in Barnstaple, North Devon. Here, I was taught how to remove all of the components from a computer and re-build it with a fresh operating system. I gained valuable basic and technical knowledge in general computer use as well as a good understanding in the setup of computers and laptops. I then went on to study a BTEC in IT Practitioners at college, which involved learning about Web Development, Computer Systems, Database Applications and Software Design & Development. Once I completed the diploma, I did an ITQ Apprenticeship in IT Users at ‘Maniac Films Ltd’ in Croyde, and then went on to achieve an Advanced Apprenticeship at Level 3.
Currently, I work for Petroc, a local college based in Barnstaple. Here, I am part of the Petroc Direct team that specialise in delivering training to other organisations throughout the UK. My job role is to provide resources and support varying from telephone assistance to producing promotional materials to all teaching staff within the team.
Outside of day-to-day work, I assist an established freelance photographer called Roy Riley with his national projects. This has given me an outstanding knowledge in digital photography and confidence when working with my DSLR camera. It has given me the opportunity to work closely with a number of high rated clients and create fantastic images and videos.
Whilst working in Croyde, I gained valuable knowledge in editing and touching up images to meet the client’s demands. This comes in handy when doing photoshoots of my own!
